Here’s a couple of Denix single-action Army’s… the gun that tamed the West…and they’re fun to hold, spin, and play with. These little six-shooters have the shorter ’gunfighter’ length barrel of 4.75″, but they also come in 5.5″ (Artillery), and 7.5″ (Cavalry). The Denix non-firing replicas also seem to be chambered for a .38 cal round. Check out the video and see what you think.

The Peacemaker
No single gun is more associated with the American West than the 1873 Single Action Army, and no replica is more requested. The design is simple: a solid frame, a gate on the right, a rod under the barrel and a hammer with four positions. It was made in dozens of barrel lengths and finishes, which is why the replica range is so wide.
The version to choose depends on the display. The 4.75 inch gun is the classic carry length and fits the most holsters; the 5.5 inch is the artillery model and looks better in a case; the 7.5 inch is the cavalry length and needs a long shelf. All three share the same frame, so grips and hammers are interchangeable, but the holsters are not.
Common questions
Which barrel length is most accurate? All three are period correct. The 7.5 inch is the cavalry length, the 5.5 inch is the artillery model and the 4.75 inch is the standard carry gun.
Does the loading gate open? Yes, the gate swings open and the ejector rod works, but the chambers are blind.
