Ekol Botan Blank Firing Gun - Nickel Semi-Automatic

About the Ekol Botan Blank Firing Gun - Nickel Semi-Automatic

Ekol Botan Blank Firing Gun - Nickel Semi-Automatic is a non-firing reproduction finished in Nickel, built to the same scale as the original and supplied ready to display. The barrel is a solid casting and the chambers are blind, so nothing can be loaded or fired, while the mechanism still moves the way the original does. That is what makes it useful for a display case, a costume or a close up photograph.

A blank gun is a real firearm mechanism that fires powder without a projectile. The barrel or the top of the chamber is vented, so the gas escapes upward or forward instead of pushing a bullet. That vent is what makes the gun legal in most of Europe and it is also the reason the noise is sharper than a replica cap gun.

Keep it out of direct sun and away from radiators: the Nickel finish fades unevenly in sunlight and heat dries the wood. A light coat of oil on a cloth, wiped over the metal twice a year, is enough. Store it in a cabinet or a presentation box rather than a foam case, because foam holds moisture against the metal.
