Italian Percussian Dueling Box Set

About the Italian Percussian Dueling Box Set

Italian Percussian Dueling Box Set is a non-firing reproduction finished in standard, built to the same scale as the original and supplied ready to display. The barrel is a solid casting and the chambers are blind, so nothing can be loaded or fired, while the mechanism still moves the way the original does. That is what makes it useful for a display case, a costume or a close up photograph.

The right display does two jobs: it shows the replica and it keeps hands off it. A framed set with a felt backing does both, and the glass keeps dust and fingerprints away from a nickel finish that marks easily. For a single gun, a presentation box with a cut-out is the classic choice and it stacks on a shelf without taking wall space.

Keep it out of direct sun and away from radiators: the standard finish fades unevenly in sunlight and heat dries the wood. A light coat of oil on a cloth, wiped over the metal twice a year, is enough. Store it in a cabinet or a presentation box rather than a foam case, because foam holds moisture against the metal.
