M1873 9mm Blank Firing Revolver, 4.75" Barrel - Antique
About the M1873 9mm Blank Firing Revolver, 4.75" Barrel - Antique
The M1873 9mm Blank Firing Revolver, 4.75" Barrel - Antique copies the proportions of the original piece: the same length, the same grip angle and the same weight in the hand. The frame is cast in zinc aluminium, hand fitted and finished in Antique, and the grips follow the original screw pattern so they can be replaced with a period set if you want a different look.
A blank gun is a real firearm mechanism that fires powder without a projectile. The barrel or the top of the chamber is vented, so the gas escapes upward or forward instead of pushing a bullet. That vent is what makes the gun legal in most of Europe and it is also the reason the noise is sharper than a replica cap gun.
Handle it the way you would the real thing: muzzle away from people, and in a case when you are in public. Wipe the metal with a dry cloth after handling, because fingerprints are acidic and will mark a Antique surface within weeks. Do not polish the finish, which is a thin surface treatment and comes off long before the tarnish does.
