Special 99 M85 Blank Gun Beretta Cougar- Black/Gold

About the Special 99 M85 Blank Gun Beretta Cougar- Black/Gold

Part of the Historic Replica Guns catalog, the Special 99 M85 Blank Gun Beretta Cougar- Black/Gold is a reproduction built for display, costume and film work rather than for firing. It is cast, fitted and finished by hand, the moving parts operate like the original, and the barrel is solid, so no round can be chambered at any point.

A blank gun is a real firearm mechanism that fires powder without a projectile. The barrel or the top of the chamber is vented, so the gas escapes upward or forward instead of pushing a bullet. That vent is what makes the gun legal in most of Europe and it is also the reason the noise is sharper than a replica cap gun.

Keep it out of direct sun and away from radiators: the Gold finish fades unevenly in sunlight and heat dries the wood. A light coat of oil on a cloth, wiped over the metal twice a year, is enough. Store it in a cabinet or a presentation box rather than a foam case, because foam holds moisture against the metal.
