Wyatt Earp Collection Framed Set

About the Wyatt Earp Collection Framed Set

The Wyatt Earp Collection Framed Set copies the proportions of the original piece: the same length, the same grip angle and the same weight in the hand. The frame is cast in zinc aluminium, hand fitted and finished in standard, and the grips follow the original screw pattern so they can be replaced with a period set if you want a different look.

The right display does two jobs: it shows the replica and it keeps hands off it. A framed set with a felt backing does both, and the glass keeps dust and fingerprints away from a nickel finish that marks easily. For a single gun, a presentation box with a cut-out is the classic choice and it stacks on a shelf without taking wall space.

Handle it the way you would the real thing: muzzle away from people, and in a case when you are in public. Wipe the metal with a dry cloth after handling, because fingerprints are acidic and will mark a standard surface within weeks. Do not polish the finish, which is a thin surface treatment and comes off long before the tarnish does.

Description

Wyatt Earp was perhaps the best known lawman of the Old West frontier. We have mounted this replica of a .45 caliber single action revolver with 4.75" barrel similar to the pistol Earp used to tame Dodge City. The action on this classic revolver works like the original. The hammer cocks, the cylinder rotates, and the trigger pulls back to drop the hammer. It is accented by wooden grips and simulated nickel finish. Mounted on a the frame with this pistol is a brass badge replica that the citizens presented to Earp in appreciation of bringing law and order to Dodge City.
